This review is a study of the carbon dioxide market in the Russian Federation.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the Russian carbon dioxide market.
The object of study is carbon dioxide (gaseous, liquid, solid - "dry" ice).
This work is a desk study. The databases of the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (FSGS RF), the official statistics of railway transportation of the Russian Federation, and the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (FTS RF) were used as sources of information. Materials of the UN database (UNdata), industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, websites of producers and consumers of carbon dioxide, as well as the Infomine database were also used.
Timeline of the study: 2015-2021; forecast - 2022-2035
Research geography: Russian Federation - comprehensive detailed market analysis.
The salient features of this study are:
- availability of a brief description of the global carbon dioxide market;
- data on the volumes of emissions and capture of carbon dioxide by industrial enterprises around the world in general and in Russia in particular;
- volumes of internal use of captured carbon dioxide by enterprises that generate the main volumes of flue gas emissions into the atmosphere;
- volumes of production and sale of commercial carbon dioxide (gaseous, liquid and "dry" ice);
- analysis of market development prospects in the light of the course towards global decarbonization of the economy (global and Russian).
The review consists of 7 chapters, contains 93 pages, including 31 tables, 25 figures and an appendix.
The first chapter presents a brief description of the current state of the global carbon dioxide market and the main aspects of the implementation of the process of global transformation of the world economy - the "Energy Transition", associated primarily with decarbonization and low-carbon development.
The second chapter contains a description of the main industries that produce carbon dioxide in the form of smoke emissions into the atmosphere during the production of basic products. Also, descriptions of the main methods of capturing carbon dioxide for its use in the production of various products are given.
The third chapter of the review is devoted to the analysis of carbon dioxide production in Russia in 2015-2021. This chapter presents the requirements of the existing regulatory and technical documentation for the quality of carbon dioxide of various grades, the volume of emissions / capture of carbon dioxide, as well as the statistics and structure of the production of commercial carbon dioxide, and describes the main manufacturing enterprises.
The fourth chapter analyzes foreign trade operations with carbon dioxide in the Russian Federation in 2015-2021. Data on the volumes of exports and imports of the products under study are given, the regional structure of supplies is estimated, data on the volumes of supplies by exporters and importers of these products are given.
The fifth chapter provides information on the level of prices for carbon dioxide in the domestic Russian market, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for products in 2015-2021.
In the sixth chapter of the review, the balance of production and consumption of carbon dioxide in Russia is given (including the volumes of capture and in-plant consumption), the sectoral structure of consumption of the products under study is assessed, and the characteristics of the main consuming industries (current state and development prospects) are given.
The seventh chapter of the review is devoted to the forecast for the development of production and consumption of carbon dioxide in Russia for the period up to 2035. The strategy for capturing carbon dioxide and decarbonizing industry in the Russian Federation is characterized.
The appendix contains the addresses and contact information of enterprises producing carbon dioxide in the Russian Federation.
Target audience of the study:
- participants in the carbon dioxide market - producers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and professionals working in the carbon dioxide market.
