This report is currently available in Russian language only. However, we can provide an English version of the report within 3 weeks after receiving a payment.

This report is the 6th edition of the study of the scandium market in the world, the former CIS countries and Russia.

The market has been monitored since 2001.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the scandium market and its compounds - global and Russian, as well as its processing chains in the aerospace industry and the production of solid oxide fuel cells.

The objects of the study are scandium-containing ores and man-made deposits and production waste, various scandium compounds (mainly oxide), metallic Sc and aluminum-scandium ligatures and alloys.

This review is the most complete among those presented on the information market on this topic, and claims to be a reference guide, since the scandium market is very closed and the statistics are incomplete.

The use of data without additional thorough analysis can lead to the adoption of erroneous management decisions by marketing services and specialists working in the scandium market.

A distinctive feature of this study is that it presents a detailed analysis of the scandium and compounds market in the CIS, which helps avoid the mistakes made by the authors of similar studies conducted by other companies.

This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); the Unified Information System in the Sphere of Procurement; railway transportation statistics; the SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of enterprises-producers and consumers of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), the FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.

Chronological framework of the study: 2001-2024; forecast - 2025-2030.

Geography of the study: the world market is considered briefly, the market of the Russian Federation and the former CIS countries - in detail.

The report consists of 9 parts, contains 156 pages, including 32 tables, 32 figures, 2 appendices.

The first chapter of the report is devoted to the mineral resource base and production of scandium and its compounds abroad. It provides information on global production, prices for scandium in the USA and areas of its application, and also considers global projects for obtaining scandium.

The second chapter of the report considers the mineral resource base of scandium in the Russian Federation and the former CIS countries. The chapter provides brief characteristics of balance deposits of scandium, as well as promising raw material objects.

The third chapter of the report provides information on the production of scandium and scandium compounds in the former CIS countries in 2001-2024. The main manufacturers are considered. GOSTs and TUs for manufactured scandium products are presented.

The fourth chapter of the report is devoted to new projects for the extraction of scandium in the former CIS countries from ore and man-made raw materials.

The fifth chapter of the report analyzes the foreign trade operations of the former CIS countries with scandium and its compounds in 2001-2024. Data on the volumes of export and import of the studied products by country, supplier and recipient are provided.

The sixth chapter of the report is devoted to Russian export-import prices for scandium, its compounds and scandium ligatures in 2004-2024.

The seventh chapter of the report analyzes the state of the main consuming industries: the aerospace industry and the production of solid oxide fuel cells, considers promising research and development in scandium, and analyzes open tenders and purchases of scandium, its compounds and ligatures in 2016-2024 in the context of the Customer-Contractor.

The eighth chapter of the report estimates the consumption of scandium in the former CIS countries in 2001-2024.

The ninth chapter of the report assesses the dynamics of production and consumption of scandium in Russia until 2030, and analyzes the global demand in the scandium market.

The appendices provide contact information for the main producers and consumers of scandium and its compounds, as well as a list of references.

Target audience of the study:

- scandium market participants - producers, consumers, traders;

- potential investors.

The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the markets for these products.
