This report is the 7th edition of the study of the glass fiber market in Russia.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the market for continuous glass fiber and materials based on it in Russia, identify the main market participants, and determine the prospects for market development.
The object of the study is continuous fiberglass (filaments, rovings, yarn, chopped fiber) and materials based on it: fiberglass, fiberglass, fiberglass nets, tapes, mats, etc.
Chronological scope of the study: 2004-2022; forecast - 2023-2030
Research geography: Russia - comprehensive market analysis
This review is the most complete among those presented on the information market on this topic, and claims to be a reference tool that replaces the data of the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, since due to the change in the nomenclature of statistical reporting of fiberglass products, the data of the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation contain very serious inconsistencies.
The use of this data without additional careful analysis can lead to the adoption of erroneous management decisions by marketing departments and specialists working in the market for products based on continuous glass fiber.
A distinctive feature of this study is that it provides a detailed analysis of the continuous glass fiber market, which avoids the mistakes made by the authors of similar studies conducted by other companies.
Currently, there are works in the marketing research market in which the authors summarize the volumes of production of continuous and staple fiberglass, which, of course, leads to serious errors in the estimates of production and consumption of these two different groups of products based on glass fiber.
This review is a desk study. As sources of information, data from the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, data from customs statistics of Russia (Mosaic database), reports of issuers of securities, materials from the federal and regional press, and websites of manufacturers and consumers of fiberglass products were used.
The report consists of 6 chapters, contains 168 pages, 91 tables, 16 figures and 2 appendices.
The first chapter provides general information about the varieties of glass fibers, their properties, production technology, applications, as well as the main types of products based on continuous glass fibers.
The second chapter is devoted to the analysis of the production of continuous glass fiber in Russia, it provides data on the dynamics of production over the past 19 years.
In this chapter, the characteristics of the largest manufacturers of glass fiber and materials based on it are given, the output volumes of the main types of products are estimated, and trends in the development of enterprises are identified.
The third chapter analyzes data on foreign economic transactions with glass fiber and materials based on it, provides statistical information on the volumes and directions of export-import deliveries of Russia in 2004-2022, identifies the main exporters and importers of continuous glass fiber and materials based on it.
The fourth chapter presents prices for products based on fiberglass from Russian manufacturers, and also analyzes the dynamics of average annual export-import prices for the main types of products.
The fifth chapter is devoted to the consumption of glass fiber and products based on it, it shows the balance of production and consumption of continuous glass fiber in Russia, and considers the main areas of application of products based on glass fiber.
The sixth and final chapter provides a forecast for the development of the continuous glass fiber market in Russia for the period up to 2030.
Appendix 1 contains contact details of Russian manufacturers of continuous glass fiber and materials based on it.
Appendix 2 contains technical specifications for the main types of fiberglass products.
Target audience of the study:
- glass fiber market participants - manufacturers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and management decision makers working in the fiberglass and composite materials market.
