This report is the twenty-fourth edition of the study of the petroleum coke market in Russia and the CIS.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the petroleum coke market in the CIS.
The object of research is petroleum coke (green and calcined).
This work is a desk study. As sources of information, the databases of the UN (UNdata), the Statistical Committees of the CIS countries (including Rosstat, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the Agency on Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, etc.), customs statistics of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, official statistics of railway transportation of the Russian Federation were used; materials of industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities, Internet sites of enterprises-producers and consumers of petroleum coke, as well as the "INFOMINE" database.
In addition, some data were confirmed and refined by telephone surveys of specialists considered in this report of the enterprises.
All this allowed the experts to reveal the picture of the petroleum coke market in the CIS and the prospects for its development.
A distinctive feature of this study is the presence of a brief description of the world market for petroleum coke; a detailed description of the largest enterprises-manufacturers and consumers of the products in question in Russia and the CIS countries and Ukraine, the directions of supply of green materials, the volumes and directions of sales of green and calcined petroleum coke. The structure of consumption of petroleum coke by industry and the largest consumer enterprises is considered in detail, the characteristics of the current state and prospects for the development of the main consuming industries are given. The forecasts of prices, production and consumption of petroleum coke are given (taking into account the current geopolitical situation as a result of Russia's special military operation on the territory of Ukraine), the largest projects for expanding production capacities are presented.
Chronological scope of the study: 1996-2021; forecast for the period up to 2035
Research geography: Russian Federation - comprehensive detailed market analysis; the world, Ukraine, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and other CIS countries - a general retrospective analysis of the market.
The report consists of 7 parts, contains 184 pages, including 43 figures, 89 tables and 2 appendices.
The first chapter of the report provides a brief overview of the global petroleum coke market.
The second chapter provides information about the raw materials needed for the production of petroleum coke, its characteristics, and directions of supply. Also in this chapter, the coke production technology is considered in detail, the quality indicators of the products obtained are given.
The third chapter is devoted to the production of petroleum coke (green and calcined) in the CIS countries in 1996-2021. The section provides statistical and estimated data on the capacities and volumes of coke production in Russia and the CIS countries. All enterprises producing petroleum coke in Russia and the CIS, the current situation at these plants and development prospects are described in detail.
The fourth chapter provides data on foreign trade operations with petroleum coke in Russia and the CIS in 1996-2021.
The fifth chapter provides information on producer prices in the Russian market. In addition, data on changes in export-import prices for products in Russia and Ukraine were analyzed. This chapter also provides a price forecast for the period up to 2035.
The sixth chapter deals with the consumption of petroleum coke. The production-consumption balance of these products in the Russian Federation and Ukraine is given, the sectoral structure of coke consumption in the Russian Federation is given, the main consumers of the Russian Federation and the CIS are presented, their current state and development prospects are analyzed.
The seventh chapter provides a forecast for the development of the Russian market of petroleum coke for the period up to 2035.
The appendices contain addresses and contact information of enterprises producing and consuming petroleum coke in the CIS countries.
Target audience of the study:
- participants of the petroleum coke market - producers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study purports to be a reference tool for marketing and management decision makers working in the petroleum coke market.
