This report is the 2nd edition of the study of the methanol (methyl alcohol) market in Russia.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the methanol market in Russia and the world and forecast its development until 2035.
The object of the study is methanol.
This work is a desk study. To analyze the Russian market, the following data were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international UN databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of Russia (until 2022); the Unified Information System in the Sphere of Procurement; railway transportation statistics; the SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of enterprises-producers and consumers of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.
Research timeframe 2008-2023; estimate 2024, forecast 2025-2035.
Research geography: Russian Federation – comprehensive detailed market analysis; world – general retrospective market analysis.
Research volume: the report consists of 6 parts, contains 126 pages, including 39 figures and 30 tables.
The first chapter provides a brief description of the global methanol market for the period 2018-2024, as well as its development prospects.
The second chapter of the report provides a description of the methanol market in Russia, provides data on the capacities of manufacturing companies, supplies of raw materials for methanol production, and the dynamics of methanol production in 2008-2024. both for Russia as a whole and by manufacturer, the current status of the main manufacturing enterprises is presented.
The third chapter of the report is devoted to the export-import of methanol in Russia in 2008-2024 with a distribution by delivery directions. The distribution of methanol exports by the main exporting companies is also given.
The fourth chapter provides an overview of methanol prices, domestic and export prices of the main suppliers.
The fifth chapter analyzes in detail the consumption of methanol in Russia by the main segments of its use. The balance of production and consumption of methanol in Russia is given, the structure of its use is revealed. A detailed description of the main areas of application (formaldehyde / UFC / resins, MTBE / TAME; gas production and transportation) is given.
The sixth chapter is devoted to the forecast of methanol production and consumption in Russia until 2035 based on the development of consuming segments and the implementation of new projects for the production of methanol in Russia.
The appendices provide contact information for the main enterprises producing and consuming methanol in Russia.
The target audience of the study:
- methanol market participants – producers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for specialists working in the methanol market and making management decisions.
