This report is currently available in Russian language only. However, we can provide an English version of the report within 3 weeks after receiving a payment.
This report is the seventh edition of the vermiculite market study in the EAEU countries.
Market monitoring has been conducted since 2004.
The objective of the study is to analyze the vermiculite market in Russia and the EAEU countries.
The subjects of the study are vermiculite concentrate, expanded vermiculite, and vermiculite-based products.
The study covers the period 2002-2025; forecast for the period 2026-2030.
Geographical scope of the study: Russian Federation – detailed market analysis; Kazakhstan and Belarus – general characteristics; global market – brief analysis.
This work differs from studies currently presented on the Russian market in its broader geographic and time frame. It examines the market not only in Russia, but also in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from 2003 to 2025.
Furthermore, this work separately examines the markets for vermiculite concentrate and exfoliated vermiculite. The main producers of these products are identified; the dynamics of foreign trade transactions with each product are examined; prices for these products are presented; and the supply-demand balance is calculated.
This review also provides a brief description of the global vermiculite market.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, and Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (up to 2022); Unified Procurement Information System; railway transportation statistics; the SBiS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of manufacturers and consumers of the products under study; scientific and technical literature (e.g., elibrary), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.
The report consists of 8 chapters and contains 145 pages, including 20 figures, 52 tables, and 2 appendices.
Chapter one provides a brief overview of the global vermiculite market.
Chapter two provides information on vermiculite deposits and their reserves in the EAEU.
Chapter three describes the technology for producing vermiculite concentrate and expanded vermiculite, and outlines the quality requirements for vermiculite products.
Chapter four is devoted to the production of vermiculite products in Russia and the EAEU. It presents data on vermiculite mining, vermiculite concentrate, and exfoliated vermiculite production in Russia and the EAEU from 1997 to 2025.
This chapter describes the current status of enterprises producing vermiculite concentrate, as well as manufacturers of exfoliated vermiculite and vermiculite-based products in Russia and the EAEU.
Chapter five of the report analyzes data on foreign trade transactions with vermiculite products in Russia from 1999 to 2024.
Chapter six presents data on domestic and export-import prices for vermiculite products in the Russian Federation from 2000 to 2024.
Chapter seven of the report analyzes domestic consumption of vermiculite in Russia and describes the main sectors consuming the product. This section also provides data on the supply routes and volumes of vermiculite concentrate and exfoliated vermiculite in Russia. It also presents consumption balances for vermiculite concentrate and exfoliated vermiculite in Russia.
The final, eighth chapter of the report presents the development prospects for the vermiculite industry through 2030.
The Appendices provide data on vermiculite product supplies through 2012, as well as contact information for vermiculite producers in the EAEU and Uzbekistan.
Target audience of the study:
- vermiculite market participants – manufacturers, consumers, and traders;
- potential investors.
This study is intended to serve as a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the vermiculite market.
